A rare look into Karl Lagerfeld and the House of Chanel. Check out the other parts of the video and the other episodes.
“Chanel or die” love Karl
Karl is an ASS.

krunchd(dot)com/freebietv has the full version
What’s the song used in the doc.? I’m so curieux about it, I love it!
this same thing happens all the time in alexander mcqueen studio in most areas
I agree with you, but shouldn’t they anticipate problems like that due to the nature of that fabric? And they are pros, aren’t they? I would, and I am no seamstress nor a pro, I do have however some knowledge of fabrics, amateur knowledge tho…No one would want a dress that bunches when one walks…imagine the thing would gather around your feet and that would be one nasty fall. Or you could kick it when you walk…but imagine the effort… lol
seriously, i would have kept it too!! hahahahah
Certainly, but not bravo to that talentless Virginie woman who recommended the panne. And why didn’t they just remove the train? Lateral trains are impossible anyway.
I agree
I would have kept it for myself lol. or at least give it to a friend.
oh man
tks for reply.
no they destroy it like burn it or something because its haute couture lol so ye… bye bye buetiful velvet dress =/
12 days i would have to go talk to karl…. i would not sit there 12 days just to get rid of it !! I would hurt myself.. =) but as u said nevertheless bravo karl!!
I would’ve cried if a dress that I hand-sewed was to just be scrapped away liked that… I happened to scrap an entire dress because it was completely a wrong fabric (sort of like the situation with the velour), and I used a sewing machine, and it was a very sad moment. Imagine hand-sewing it! You must’ve get very attached to that garment… But nevertheless barvo Karl to keep the perfection alive!
See 5:40(gold dress) I wonder what happen to it. Just throw away or something? I hope that dress is just keep in a big room that is full of clothes that karl cancelled.
whoa that guy who work on shoes could be tired of walking seven day straight!
maybe ur sayin the fall 06 couture show?
i feel so bad for the lady who worked so hard on 12 days and had to be cancelled…
i just love those shoes, oh! and I love the setting, the film perfectly captures the fresh mix of the old, chic style of chanel with the fresh, exciting, new , innovative ideas of Lagerfeld. And Paris, it looks so refreshing!
Her reaction is that of a true professional. Wow. She says, “But the new one will surely be just as pretty.” I don’t think Karl was being rude at all, either. It’s a business, nothing personal. She has the experience and grace to roll with the punches.
What a passionate team he has, and so touching to see Laurence’s reaction to the Panne dress being scrapped.
I don’t think Karl was being rude. I think he expects perfection because he’s dedicated to his work and there is a lot of money riding on each collection. Why waste all that time, money and effort on 90% when you can give 100%? Also don’t forget that he designs for other houses as well as Chanel, that is a lot of pressure!
Me, too. He’s a genius.
