For Fall we have a fun and whimsical purse named “Precious Symbols”. It is decorated with all the iconic symbols we have come to recognize as synonymous with the house of Chanel. The number 5, the camellia, CC monogram and the four leaf clover are all there. The purse is a small clutch size shoulder bag with chain strap. Available in black velvet and black patent leather, the latter is priced at $995. That is a deal for a Chanel bag!

^ You must have picked up the velvet one. That one was priced higher. I looked straight from the SA’s price list book, so I’m 99.9% sure the patent leather is $995. It’s a great purse. Enjoy it!

hmm… i can’t seem to tell the difference between the velvet and the patent leather. is the velvet supposed to feel like super soft leather? i feel like i might have been charged the velvet one for the leather one. ???

    Velvet is velvet fabric.
Patent leather is shiney glossy leather.

just as an update… the patent leather and velvet are both $1295, according to both the soho and san francisco stores. as of early this morning, there were 17 patent leather and 13 velvet left in the united states.

I just bought one this weekend from the Chanel boutique in Nordstrom, but it was neither velvet nor patent…it was a calf leather with square quilting and it was also $1295. I don’t think Nordstrom would dare sell fakes!

I just bought the small leather quilted precious symbols purse at the Chanel boutique in Neiman Marcus in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia for $995. The independent Chanel boutique here did not carry the leather one, just the velvet. It is sooo precious!

lindsay, i was under the impression that the small precious symbols purse wouldn’t make it to the states. is it the small or the medium (which is pictured above)?

^ Yes, the leather version was just re-advertised. I will be posting photos of it shortly! It has no flap as the patent bag does.

I bought this style in lamb leather at Bloomingdale’s for $1295 .
I saw A pouchette version on NM catalog for $995
It’s smaller and has no flap as mine does. I am courious

Is mine a lamb or calf leather – I was told that by SA that it was lamb and Lorena bought it calf.

Is the leather ones are limited edition ?

I think these bags came with flap and no flap. All leather descriptions came from Neiman Marcus catalog. The Chanel hotline will gladly answer your question to the T. No need to be scared of them, give em’ a buzz!

Doesn’t really matter what kind of leather it is -I still Love it .
I had no idea there is a Chanel Hotline ;)
